WORK SHOULDN'T COST PEOPLE
their humanity.
Over the years, I've led teams, coached leaders, survived corporate America, and watched organizations repeat the same mistake:They protect the work. Instead of protecting the people doing it.
PEOPLE ARE THE GLASS BALL.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS PLASTIC.
I call this the Glass Ball Framework™.
Because when you drop a plastic ball, it bounces.
When you drop a glass ball, it shatters.
People are the glass ball.
And yet workplaces continue to treat human beings as if they're infinitely-deep renewable resources.
They're not.
A FRAMEWORK FOR BUILDING WORK THAT WORKS.
Protect the glass ball.
People first isn't a slogan. It's a design principle. No deadline. No KPI. No quarterly target. Is more important than human beings. Because revenue recovers. People sometimes don't.
Burnout is data.
Burnout isn't weakness. It's information. It tells us where systems are broken, what behaviors are rewarded, who holds power, and what leadership is tolerating. The question isn't "Why can't people handle this?" The question is: Why does this system require it?
Systems create outcomes.
The workplace isn't broken because individuals failed. Many systems are working exactly as designed. If your outcomes are inequitable, exhausting, or unsustainable. The answer isn't fixing people. It's redesigning systems.
Work is a tool, not an identity.
You are a person before you are an employee. Your value does not begin or end with productivity. Work should support life. Not consume it.
Leadership is stewardship.
Leadership isn't power over people. It's responsibility for people. The best leaders don't extract more. They create conditions where people can thrive.

WHY IT MATTERS
For decades, we've optimized work for efficiency.
It's time to optimize it for humans.
Because if people are the glass ball,
we should stop building workplaces that keep dropping them.
